The PAIA Manual serves as a guide for the public and clients on how to access information held by ASBIS Africa in accordance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA). It outlines procedures, fees, and grounds for refusal related to information requests. Additionally, it provides information on how ASBIS Africa manages and protects personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
The manual describes the types of records and personal information that ASBIS Africa holds and explains how to submit requests for access to these records under the PAIA Act. It also covers how to object to or correct personal information held by ASBIS Africa under the POPI Act.
Section 51(1) of the Act requires private bodies (such as ASBIS Africa) to compile a manual containing information about the subjects and categories of records they hold. The manual fulfills this requirement and provides a reference for accessing records held by ASBIS Africa.
If you’re accessing this manual on our website, you can also obtain a copy directly from our Information Officer by writing to the address provided in section 4 of the PAIA Manual or emailing the Information Officer directly.
